If you’ve ever opened MyFitnessPal, typed in your stats, and been handed a shiny little 1,200-calorie goal… you’re not alone. You’re also not broke, but your metabolism might be a little confused.

Let’s chat about why this “free” app has secretly been messing with your fat loss goals, your food freedom, and your sanity. 🧠🍑

Why MyFitnessPal Macros Are Inaccurate

MFP gives everyone the same basic calorie equation (usually 1,200–1,400 cals) without considering your:

  • Metabolic history
  • Training style
  • Stress levels
  • Sleep, hormones, or lifestyle
  • Past dieting history (yep, that matters!!)

At first? You may see the scale drop. But give it a few weeks (or days)… and suddenly:

  • You’re exhausted
  • Craving all the things
  • Seeing the weight creep back
  • Feeling like “nothing works anymore”

That’s not a willpower problem. It’s a metabolism problem.

If you’re not sure how slow your metabolism has gotten from past diets or tracking attempts, this is a great place to figure out where your metabolism currently sits.

The Yo-Yo Cycle You Didn’t Sign Up For

Here’s how it usually goes:

Step 1: Download MFP.
Step 2: Eat 1,200 cals.
Step 3: Lose some weight.
Step 4: Feel tired, hungry, cranky.
Step 5: Eat “normally” again.
Step 6: Weight shoots up.
Step 7: Panic… and start back at Step 2.

Sound familiar?

That’s called metabolic adaptation, and the longer you stay in that loop, the harder fat loss becomes. If you’re tracking your macros but seeing no change (or weight regain), it’s time to shift gears.

The Problem with Low-Carb & Keto (That No One Tells You)

Let’s talk carbs for a sec.

So many women come to me saying, “I lost weight on keto, but the second I ate a bagel — BOOM. I gained it all back.”

But the problem wasn’t the bagel (carbs are not the enemy). It was the fact that your metabolism was never healed from the deficit you were in.

Why I Don’t Use MyFitnessPal in My Coaching

Inside my coaching and macro resources, we NEVER use MFP macros. Why?

Because MFP doesn’t…

  • Personalize to your body
  • Adjust for stress, sleep, workouts, or biofeedback
  • Help you reverse diet or pivot when your macros stop working

My method looks at the whole picture. We assess where your metabolism is now, how it got there, and what it needs to rebuild.

If you’re curious about what tracking macros the right way looks like, this is the resource I recommend to get started.

Macros Aren’t a Diet. They’re a Tool

If you’ve tried “every diet under the sun,” you might be scared of tracking again.

But here’s the difference:

  • Diets restrict.
  • Macros teach.

They teach you how to fuel your body with confidence, not guilt.

Inside my macro method, we focus on building your metabolism up, not shrinking you down. You’ll learn how to eat more, feel better, and lose weight that actually stays off.

And when you’re ready to adjust those macros for fat loss? We do it the right way, no 1,200-calorie nonsense allowed.

Ready to Ditch MFP for Good?

If MyFitnessPal has left you burned out, bloated, and confused, I promise — you’re not the problem.

The app is.

You deserve better numbers, a better method, and a body that actually responds when you’re working hard.

So whether you’re just starting or you’ve been stuck in the “same macros forever” plateau, it’s time to try a strategy that actually works with your metabolism, not against it.

Let’s rebuild it the right way, Beautiful Peach 💛
